Now y'all saw my aggravation with the snow last week
Well, after making it home safe through the several inches of slush, I parked on the street and didn't need to drive again until this morning. (We took
garrun's car down to KatsuCon).
This morning, those several inches of slush had transformed into several of inches of ice, lovingly wrapped around my wheels. It took my housemate, an ice chopper, salt, kitty litter, and twenty minutes to get me out.
On one of my early surveys, I slipped on the ice. A I left, I was walking normally. When I arrived at work, I took the stairs with only a small twinge in my kneww. By lunch, I gave up and took the elevator back up. By mid-afternoon I had a full-fledged limp, had to be careful moving in my chair, and needed a little help from the wall to get to the bathroom and back. Going home tonight will clearly be loads of fun.
I really hope this sleeps off.

So, I called the emergency hotline they made such a fuss about this morning, and the announcement still said we were on a two-hour-delay opening.
I just drove for an hour to go twelve miles, on uncleared slush-covered roads, over a small mountain, and when I walked in, they closed the building. They couldn't have changed the recording.
I have this email:
.Due to the deteriorating conditions of the weather, the office is going to be closed. You will still have access to the building if you’re planning to come in and if you’re already in, you are free to enter and exit the building with your ID. Security has been having issues with the hotline and I am working with them to get the situation rectified. I will keep updated with any new information. Thank you.
Gah. I'm taking a few minutes to cover a few things and then I will head back through the mess. Yay.

I just got this email:
With the impending snow storm this afternoon, we will have a delayed opening at 10am tomorrow morning. It is strongly advised that you call the hotline before leaving for work to check for any changes in the message. We will make every effort to remain open during inclement weather. However it is up to each individual to evaluate his or her own situation before traveling in less than ideal conditions. Kindly consult with your direct manager regarding these situations.
Woo-hoo! I get to sleep in tomorrow!

Feh, I strongly dislike summer weather. I am a fan of neither heat nor humidity, and my affection for sunlight is limited to that which does not burn me. Already my arms do not match one another. I have plugged in the air conditioner and shall see how well it has worked when I return home tonight.
For those of my friends I have not inflicted these on yet:
- ...Then I wondered, "What might it look like if these vicious dinosaurs tried to attack Noah's Ark?"
- The Rebel Club
- The Rebel Four
Note that I am still planning a birthday excursion for June 17 to dinner and then Batman Begins. It will be, er, somewhere in New Jersey, probably nearish unto me. Details are waiting until movie times are posted.
